What a simple, and perhaps naive way, to approach situations and circumstances in our lives. But the simple act of JUST ASKING still holds supreme for the royal children of the Most High God.
We go through life with our problems, issues, and concerns, and we express them to the people who are closest to us. Whether it’s a spouse, a good friend or even a mentor. What is so perplexing about this is that we express it to everyone else but we don’t come to our Father in heaven and ask Him for help. I must admit, I have been guilty of this myself. In my case, I wouldn’t express it to anyone. I would just try to handle it myself. Lord knows that didn’t work out for me!
Isn’t it amazing though that we can confer with everyone else, but for some reason, we hesitate to JUST ASK our Father in heaven? The very One who was here before anything and everything else was, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). I think He is worthy to be asked.
Think about it. Instead of going through all of these trial and errors, how about asking the One who knows everything? Psalm 139:3 says, “that the Lord comprehends our path and our lying down, and He is acquainted with ALL of our ways.” I am all about working hard, but if there is an easier, more effective, no stress way; then why not?
In my own experience and dealing with others, the root reason for simply not asking seems to be a lack of knowing that God really and truly cares about everything in our lives. Whether it be the biggest or smallest issue, it doesn’t matter. The Lord God our Father cares about everything that we go through.
Psalm 139 also states in verse 17 that God’s thoughts are precious toward me and about you. The verse goes on to say that the thoughts that God has toward me and you are so numerous and precious that it would be compared to counting the sand granules at a beach. I have children of my own, and I can honestly say that I love my children tremendously, but to say my thoughts toward them are in comparison to sand on a beach, would be stretching the truth very thin.
In closing, I want to lead you to what God said in the book of John. In John 16:24 AMP, He said, “up to this point, you haven’t asked one single thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]…”
When we ask in His Name, His Name is presenting all that He IS!
When we present it, we represent that Name of God, which is JESUS! All that the Father is, His very being is wrapped up in that Name. So, when we ask, we are presenting that issue to all that God IS in His Name. Therefore, that issue must be resolved and it must bow before God (Philippians 2:10).
The scripture goes on to say, “but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive.” That’s amazing, that the creator of the universal actually wants you and I, to ask and keep on asking. If you think that is awesome, just wait until you read the last portion of the verse. Our Father in heaven gives a reason that he wants us to do this. The Lord says this, “but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, SO THAT your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.
Are you kiddin’ me?! Is this serious? The Lord God Almighty wants you and I to ask and keep on asking Him, so that our joy, gladness and delight may be full and complete? Yes! Yes! Yes!
Please, whoever is reading this, I beg of you to get a new thought about God. To get a new perception and understanding about God. You must do this! He is our Father in heaven. He is more loving than we think, more compassionate and merciful than we can ever comprehend. He thinks so highly about us.
Please, start praying and asking The Father to help you to see how He truly is toward YOU! Know this, His modus operandi (MO) is that our joy, gladness and delight be to the FULL!
He also confirms this in John 10:10: The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come that you would have life and have it more abundantly / to the full.
So, in closing, have you simply just asked the Father in Heaven, because He wants you to have it more than you want to have it yourself.
Remember, God makes all things work together for your good (Romans 8:28).
The grace (UNMERITED, UNEARNED, UNDESERVED FREE FAVORS) and peace of Jesus Christ our Savior; be to YOU!
